Getting on the cross-stitch sampler train!
I'm excited and nervous about this, to be honest. I'm finally trying my hand at cross-stitch samplers.
What is a sampler, you might ask? It's turned into a pretty broad term from it's humble beginnings but basically, it's a pattern for needlework (obviously, for mine currently, it's cross-stitching focused) that adheres to a motif, theme or subject. It usually includes an alphabet (but isn't required) and has decorative borders, but it isn't a hard and fast rule. Rules were meant to be broken, anyway. Right?
My Stranger Things sampler (and future planned ones) are focused entirely on cross-stitching with backstitching and french knots where needed, so they aren't like other patterns of mine that can use other embroidery stitches such as long stitch, bullion stitches or whatnot.
This means my sampler patterns are -and will be- quite beginner friendly. Which is aweseome!
What is a sampler you might like to see me create? Write a comment below; I would love to know!
If you're a fan of Stranger Things, I do hope to see you pick this up for yourself. I can't wait to hear what you think and see progress updates from you!
