Stitching My Love for K-Pop Demon Hunters
Every now and then, something comes along that completely takes over my household — and lately, it's the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters. My girls discovered it on Netflix when it came out and since then, it's become a full-blown obsession in our home (Well, for my girls & myself. My husband; not so much 😂). Between the music, the action, and the strong female characters, it's a total hit with all of us.
Also? My girls are delighted that there's no kissing.
The soundtrack, though — oh my goodness. It's constantly playing in our house and my car. I've lost count of how many times I've heard "Golden", "Takedown" and "Soda Pop", but the girls can't get enough of them. And truthfully, neither can I! The songs are catchy, empowering, and so much fun.
So of course, it was only a matter of time before I turned that inspiration into stitches. My newest cross-stitch pattern, "No Hiding", features Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in their amazing movie outfits, with yellow-gold Honmoon barriers that protects the human world from demons. The quote "No more hiding, I'll be shining, like I'm born to be" is front and centre — such a perfect line about self-expression and confidence.
Designing this one, though, wasn't as straightforward as I first expected. Choosing the right colours (and then reducing them down to as few as possible) was a real challenge! I found myself unpicking and restitching some parts several times, tweaking shades and tones until it felt just right. But I'm so pleased with the end result — bright, bold, and full of energy, just like the movie itself.
