You've Heard the Song… Now Stitch the Fish
🎵 "Steve, le [whaaaaa] //
Le poisson Steve [poisson Steve!]" 🎵
If you've had this wonderfully absurd earworm stuck in your head too, you're not alone – it's lived rent-free in mine for weeks. So naturally, I channelled that brain loop into something cute and stitchable!
Meet "Le Poisson": a delightfully weird little orange fish with arms, legs (why though? LOL), and enormous eyes – inspired by the viral Le Poisson Steve meme that's been flopping around the internet lately.
This free cross-stitch pattern is:
- Quick to stitch – seriously, it took me just 30 minutes!
- Low effort, high giggle – with minimal colours and a teeny-tiny footprint, it's perfect for a silly afternoon project.
- Backstitch-forward – I challenged myself to design this in a more “realistic” outline-heavy style using backstitch with cross-stitch fills. There might not be an official name for this technique (let me know if there is!), but let’s call it drawing-chic for now.
I couldn’t keep this little fishy to myself – it’s just too adorable not to share. Whether you’re a meme lover, a fan of tiny projects, or just in need of a laugh, I hope this pattern brings a smile to your face (and a tune to your head).
This listing is for a PDF pattern ONLY for you to stitch for yourself, a friend or a loved one.
