Le Poisson: A Little Meme, A Lot of Laughs (and One Very Quick Stitch)
I’ve had a particular tune bouncing around in my brain for the past couple of weeks — you might know the one. It’s that delightfully unhinged little song about Le Poisson Steve, complete with an orange fish, flappy arms, oddly determined legs, and one very dramatic eye.
Naturally, I did the only reasonable thing a cross-stitch designer could do: I turned it into a pattern. 😂

Meet Le Poisson
This free pattern is a tiny tribute to the meme that refuses to leave my head. It’s quick (seriously, I stitched it up in about 30 minutes), silly, and surprisingly expressive for a fish with no nose and a bold backstitch outline.
I challenged myself with this one by aiming for a slightly more “realistic” style — well, as realistic as a bipedal cartoon fish can be! The combo of backstitch and full crosses gives it just enough detail to make it pop, while still keeping it beginner-friendly and super manageable for anyone who just needs a fun, fast stitch.
And really… how could I not share it with you too?

I hope Le Poisson brings a giggle to your stitching time like it did to mine. I’ll leave the song stuck in your head now too — you’re welcome. 😉
