Thoughts & Feelings
As I release this pattern, I’m grappling with the heavy weight of watching someone I view as deeply unfit for leadership return to the highest office in the United States of America.
The first term (2016 - 2020) was a disaster, marked by chaos, division, and disregard for the values I hold dear. To see him win re-election, especially over a highly qualified female candidate, feels like a slap in the face—not just to me as a woman, but to so many who worked tirelessly for change. As a mother to a child with exceptional needs, a woman living in the U.S. with a green card, and someone who cares deeply about justice and equity, I worry about what this presidency means for my family’s future. More than that, my heart aches for those less fortunate than I am—especially people of colour—who will likely bear the brunt of policies that harm rather than heal.
This pattern is my small way of processing those feelings and amplifying a message of resilience and hope in the face of frustration.
