All of the 2022 Christmas Ornaments

Stitch people holiday ornaments for 2022

If you don't follow me over on my Instagram account, you might not know that completing my orders for holiday ornaments this year was a little tougher than I originally anticipated. Why's that you might ask? Well as I spoke about in both my September wrap-up and Oct/Nov wrap-up posts, I underwent two surgeries on my foot after I broke my toe (one could say "broke" is not a strong enough word - it was more like I shattered the bone..!) back on Halloween 2021. Unfortunately, healing from the surgeries - only one of which was planned. The second one was a sugical correction- has been really slow and difficult.

So obviously, I've had to put a bit more focus on helping my body heal and repair than I originally anticipated when I originally opened spots to receive ornament orders.

This did mean that I was feeling the pressure during November, but looking back I wouldn't have changed it — I would still have wanted to stitch all of these ornaments. I truly do love being able to lay them all out and see all the hard work together!

Peep the finished results

Let me know what you think of the finished ten pieces! I've included the clips of them all (in no particular order!) as well as some close-up images of parts I am particularly pleased with - both characters and decor - below the video.

Close-up faces

Here's a selection of 12 characters with awesome features, such as an adorable outfit, awesomely stitched hair or cute additions!

A close-up photo of a cross-stitched boy with brown hair, wearing a festive-looking sweater in greys and greens.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched woman with white/blonde hair. She has dark framed glasses on and wearing a white top and brown cardigan. Her hair is pinned to the side.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched girl with beautiful hand-embroidered, wavy brown hair. She is wearing a grey top with mistletoe on it and has large, dark-framed glasses on.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched boy with brown hair that has a distinct cowlick in it. He is wearing a grey sweater that has been stitched in a way that looks knitted.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched little blonde-haired girl. She is wearing a top that has a red bow tied on the front and you can also see a string of hand embroidered 'Christmas lights' around her.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched man wearing a santa hat. He has brown hair and facial hair. He is also wearing a buffalo-plaid shirt which has been meticulously hand stitched.
A close-up photo of two cross-stitched girls, both with shoulder-length blonde hair. They are wearing matching red dresses with frilly shoulders and black buttons down the front.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched girl with long, almost-black hair. She is wearing a purple long-sleeved top that has a pastel rainbow on the front.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched little girl who has bright auburn hair. She is wearing a red top that has teensy crosses on it and a cute pink bow in her hair.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched woman with lots of almost-black, very curly hair, parted deeply on the side. She is wearing a black top which has a dotted pattern on the front.
A close-up photo of a cross-stitched man. He has lots of dark brown facial hair that, at the chin -only, is speckled with salt & pepper colouring. He is wearing a light green top with a yellow star on the front.
A close-up photo of a tiny little cross-stitched cat. The colouring is mostly-white with dark-grey ears and temples. It has a cute pink nose, green eyes and faint white whiskers.

Gorgeous decor elements

I don't ever intend to pick favourites when it comes to my pieces (ornaments or regular pieces!) but I inadvertently find myself drawn to certain elements for whatever reason. So here are some tiny parts that I adore.

A close-up photo of hand-embroidered branch of pine needles, red berries and a yellow bow at the bottom.
A close-up photo of hand-embroidered red flower that has sprigs of pine, some white flowers and pinecones. Underneath you can see the curve of a simple brown circular border.
A close-up photo of hand-embroidered pine branches with red berries littered throughout.
A close-up photo of hand-embroidered, small floral arrangement. It includes a large red flower (which has sparkley floss mixed in with it), pink flowers and some teensy green leaves.
A close-up photo of hand-embroidered string of multicoloured Christmas lights. They wind and curve with the hoop shape and white space between the people on the ornament.
A close-up photo of hand-embroidered a simple blue flower. It is accompanied by some greenery and subtle pink french knots.

That's it!

All 10 cross-stitch and hand embroidered Christmas ornaments laid out flat on a faux wood background. 9 of them are in a 4in embroidery hoop and the last one is in a 3in hoop. hours of work can be seen these tiny little pieces work.
The ten 2022 ornaments I completed.

It's a little surreal to post so many hours of design, stitching, and finger pricks worth of work in a simple blog post or a handful of social media posts, but here we are. And I can only hope to be able to do the same, this time next year..!

I would love to know if you have a favourite ornament or even a favourite, specific part of one! Leave me a comment below with what you think/like.

Oh no, I missed out!..?

If you have a severe case of FOMO, don't fret!

I am always open to discussing ornaments "off-season" if you are looking to get a belated one stitched. Last year, I opened up a limited few spaces for Christmas ornaments after receiving a few inquiries for them. I won't be blanket-opening spaces like last time, but I am more than happy to discuss your needs and open spaces one-at-a-time as needed, if needed. All you need to do is get in touch and we can chat!
