2024 Stitch People Holiday Ornaments: A Year of Creativity

This year, I had the pleasure of stitching six Stitch People Holiday Ornaments. While this was fewer than in previous years, taking my time with each piece allowed me to focus on the details, try new techniques, and fully enjoy the creative process. Each ornament, framed in a 4-inch hoop and ready to hang, represents a small, handcrafted work of art filled with unique personality and festive charm.

A Look at the Collection

Five of the ornaments are featured together in a group photo, showcasing the diverse families and individuals I stitched this year. Each piece is unique, from the intricate festive borders to the personal touches that make them truly special. Missing from this group shot is a rush order I completed earlier in the year (but don’t worry—I’ll share more about them all below!).

Up-Close Highlights

Characters

I’m particularly proud of the personal details in the characters I stitched this year. These small touches brought each design to life and made them unique to the families they represent. Here are some highlights:

  • Subtle freckles on a plaid-wearing boy, bringing a realistic and personal element to his portrait.
  • A dash of blue hair that perfectly reflected the vibrant personality of its owner, adding a bright pop of colour.
  • A swaddled baby with adorable peach fuzz—my first time stitching this pose, and it came out wonderfully!
  • A tuxedo-patterned cat, carefully stitched to capture its distinctive markings and charm.
  • A real, tiny bow on a little girl wearing a polka-dotted dress. It was finicky to attach but added such charm to the design.

Every character gave me an opportunity to celebrate individuality, whether through unique hairstyles, freckles, or signature accessories.

Details

This year’s ornaments also featured intricate decorative elements, each adding a festive or personal touch. Some of my favourite details include:

  • A string of Christmas lights with perfectly spaced French knots—challenging but worth the effort for such a fun result.
  • Pinecones nestled into one border, giving it a warm, rustic holiday feel.
  • Candy cane lettering, simple yet striking, that added a playful element to one ornament.
  • Hand-embroidered floral borders, which required careful planning and patience but turned out beautifully, framing the portraits in a truly special way.

These small, thoughtful elements made each ornament a labour of love and brought extra depth to the designs.

Customer Feedback

Hearing from my customers is one of the most rewarding parts of creating these ornaments. I’ve reached out to the families featured this year and will update this section with their feedback once I receive it. Their thoughts and kind words always make the process even more fulfilling.

I've gifted a handful of these beautiful pieces to my family and friends and I'm always so in awe of how perfect they are! The attention to detail is unmatched. All the ornaments came packed in cute boxes and bags - an easy present that always gives such happiness! I will continue to buy stitch pieces from Two Little Kits for a long time!

- Amy

I absolutely adore our family ornament from Two Little Kits! Kate's attention to detail makes it so personalized - from our scruffy terrier's wild tuft of hair, to the meticulous choice of just the right colors for our hair and skin - it feels like a snapshot of our family at this point in time, but extra cute! The ornate border of leaves and berries gives it an extra festive flair. Every tiny creative detail makes me smile and I [will] look forward to putting it on our tree year after year!
