When You Just Can't Stop Kitting Up New Projects
Description:
Between recovering from a truly god-awful 72-hour bug and celebrating the quiet house now that the kids are officially back at school, my hands have been busy with stitching. We have a finished piece celebration for "Life at the Cottage" —which had a slightly abrupt ending when I chose to skip part 8— along with far too many new starts to feel guilty about. From Elle Noonan's gorgeous new pattern book "Cozy Cottage Cross-Stitch" to an irresistible winter Patreon release, the temptation to kit up new projects definitely took over this fortnight. Sorry not sorry.
Behind the scenes, my iPad is getting a workout. I'm sharing early thoughts on a Meccha Chameleon-inspired ("hide and seek" video game) pattern concept, plus a rather nervous, chatty breakdown of my sketches for the potential Dungeon Crawler Carl stitch-along.
Some things I would love your feedback on:
- For those interested in the 'Dungeon Crawler Carl SAL': how should we handle the 'secret' aspect when I usually share everything right here on FlossTube? Would you rather I keep my own stitching hidden until things are released, or would you like seeing the progress as it unfolds?
- Help me brainstorm: I'm working on a Meccha Chameleon-style pattern, but it needs a snappy, two-word name that works as a series title. Any favourite ideas?
- I need a snappy name for the new merch design ('I just want to cross-stitch and listen to my audiobook'). I'm currently calling it "Audiobook Listener", but I'm not happy with it. What would you name it?
- How many works-in-progress is too many before the stitcher's guilt creeps in? (Asking for a friend who may've just kitted up several new things in <2 weeks...)
Grab your fav WIP, settle in, and let me know in the comments what you're currently working on!
You should drop a comment to say "hi!", like the video, and subscribe over at YouTube or Spotify if you're not already so you don't miss future FlossTubes. Doing any & all of those things helps me out immensely and it's free for you! I LOVE receiving your feedback and seeing your support 🧡

FlossTube is an online community brimming with creativity and camaraderie, centred around the love for all things needlework. Much like its cousin, YouTube, FlossTube is home to a plethora of channels run by passionate creators, affectionately known as "FlossTubers." These creators produce a wide variety of content, including project updates, tutorials, hauls (showcasing recent purchases), and even vlogs that provide a glimpse into their stitching journeys.
I'm hoping to build on my little community that I've got by expanding more to YouTube and what better way than to show off what I'm working on and boast about my latest finished pieces?
It's neat to be sharing with you all what I'm working on outside of regular social media posts, like the usual over at Instagram. I hope you're enjoying my FlossTubes! Don't forget to help out (for free!) by;
- subscribing to my channel,
- liking my video and
- dropping a comment
over there if you like what you see!
