A new style of pattern
One of the awesome things about making my own cross-stitch patterns is being in charge of what sort of designs I create. That means, if I want to deviate from my "norm", I bloody well can!
So a little while ago, I was inspired by a photograph (I don't have a reference link, my apologies) I saw of koi fish and lily pads. I'm not a massive 'fish-fanatic', but I am always on the look out for lovely composures and interesting imagery. And this photo inspired me to design… this pattern!
I've also always wanted to design a pattern that the fabric plays a big part in the piece itself. And what better way than using good 'ol navy fabric for a deep-blue-water look?
So what do you think? Would you love to see more patterns like this? Simple, easy, "calming", editable (as in, you could take elements + a font and make it your own)…? I would love to hear your thoughts!
And of course; thank you to my amazing test stitcher, @jessistitches for stitching up the example piece!
